Everything Wrapped In Nothing

Nothing at all is the most beautiful sight I have ever seen. I remember stepping onto the tiny boat that would take me from one small island to the other, Harbor Island, Bahamas to be exact. For once, I found the 'gimmics' on brochures to be actually not gimmics at all.

The sand really was the color of the sunset at dusk, and the water the color of the Cool Blue Gatorade I drink religiously. Everything was so underdeveloped, and so beautiful. The way of life and the kindness automatically settled over me like a warm comforter.

I was immediately encompassed in the smooth way of life of the Bahamians. The thing I remember most vividly however, is the first night of my arrival. My family and I decided to take a midnight stroll to the beach.

I was immediately put to ease by the soothing lull of the waves and the crisp cool sand that surrounded my feet. My breath was sucked out of me like a vaccum. All it took was one glance at the night sky to convince me that this was heaven on earth.

Each star shone leading to heaven. No city lights, no car horns, no dog barks, just bliss on a beach. That night changed my life forever.

I learned that true beauty lies not within the materialistic aspects that the world is obsessed with today, but with the natural beauty of our world.
